Since update (Build 11.1.1.3) Tracks will NOT map to Master

I am ingesting old tapes to WAV though a Focusrite. It has been working fine for months, THEN I updated Audition (Build 11.1.1.3) and now I CANNOT get the Tracks (1 and 2) to map to the Master Bus. This should not be that complicated, but I cannot figure out what has changed.

When I open an older session it plays back just fine, tracks 1 and 2 map to Master. When I attempt to append to a working session, it still will not send to Master. This makes absolutely NO SENSE. I have not changed a thing.

I assume I found the answer. There seems to have been a default setting change in the latest version.

Under Edit > Preferences > Multitrack:

The setting "When arming tracks for record" only "enable input metering" was ticked. When I ticked the other option box, "enable smart metering" I could see the audio signal pass to the Master meter and levels window.

I am assuming that used to be ticked by default, and in the newest update, it was not. I never specifically changed that setting in the old version.

That seems to be the solution.

Oh, it does make sense. Unfortunately the sense it makes is that you've got a corrupted session file.

But if this is happening on all new sessions, then it's possible that the fault is within whichever template you are using. If you try using a different one, does the same thing happen?

Sorry for not responding sooner, I was gone all last week on the road. I will try using another template when I get a chance to get back on this project, which may not be until next week.

Note: this occurred right after an Audition update. I don't know if that is the cause of a coincidence.

What audio interface is the Master output set to in both the working and non working sessions? Even if you are not hearing the output do the main meters in Audition register that audio is playing?

The output for the Master is set to Default Stereo. However, I've tried every other possibility. If the audio is not reaching the Master, does it matter to where the Master outputs?

When I have a tape playing, the meters for track 1 and 2 are showing signal as usual. The Levels meter below the Multitrack window shows 0 signal as does the Master meter in the Mixer.

The Output for both tracks 1 and 2 is Master.
