Single Audio Track Editing - Is there a fade to silence in the middle of the track

I know you can apply a fade curve to the beginning or end of an audio track but what if I want to smooth from voice over speaking to silence between sentences mid track? Any tool for that?

Thank you. That seems to only work in a multi-track situation. What about in waveform editor?

Effects>Amplitude and Compression>Fade Envelope. But you will have to create your own curves with it though...

With a bit of mucking about with the 'spline curves' option and enough points, this can be pretty smooth. That said, I wouldn't dream of doing it this way - I'd use multitrack view because it's a lot quicker and more flexible, even when you have to take account of mixing down or exporting the result.

Menu option View > Show Clip Volume Envelopes

From there you can create keyframes and adjust the volume however needed
