Solved video reference causing crashes on Windows 10, now have pink and green video but I'll take it

The problem I had was an inability to load or view reference videos of any kind. If it didn't crash on import it would crash when I tried to do anything with the video portion (drag to a video track or insert in multitrack). All audio was perfect. I had to take my software version back to 13.0.8.43 on Audition and now I can import and view video files beautifully. Well, not beautifully, they're a weird combination of pink and green, like an original color tv from the '50s, but at least it works and doesn't crash each and every time I load a video.

Does anybody have an idea about the pink and green video? Thanks.

Pink and green on the video, certainly when using Premiere, is a sign that the video card driver needs updating.

Quite. And when you've done that, try it with the current version of Audition again...

Already done that guys. However, solved the issue myself, to my satisfaction anyway. In Premiere I edit a series of audio clips from my camera, made without audio. I then send the sequence through dynamic link to Audition multitrack. Video shows up perfectly. Importing an mp4 didn't work, the vid was pink and green, but I found that mov files from my camera showed correctly and came up with this workaround. Now I can do an audio overdub in Audition over a previously edited series of video clips, with a video reference playing, which was my goal.

I very much appreciate the suggestions all the way around. The latest version and the 2 or 3 before it simply don't work with my machine (which is oldish) at all video-wise. I'm happy with this solution, and I believe that a new video card would solve any and all issues, but for now it is what it is. Love working with audio in Audition. Not bad in Premiere either, but I'm more comfortable in Audition.
