Something sounds wrong about this but cant pinpoint what exactly

Question

Anyone have any knowledge with editing audio files and/or Adobe Audition?

If you skip to 19 seconds within the video you can hear me speaking but there's something wrong with the audio but I cant quite put my finger on it. Any recommendations on how to fix it or whats wrong? Is it an echo maybe? Thank you!

It's not fixable - except by re-recording it without a massive level of compression applied, and with the threshold set completely inappropriately - that's what has actually happened here I think, judging from the sound of it.

There is, though, a tool in Audition that will let you match a re-recording of the speech with what's there originally. In the multitrack view under 'clip' there's an Automatic Speech Alignment tool, which can listen to the pacing of the original speech and (assuming you get it nearly right) fit your revised version so that you get what appears to be lip sync back. It's neat, and works remarkably well.

Hi there. Sounds to me like too much Noise Reduction has been used.

If you can get back to the original camera recording, capture a noise print from an area in that recording where there's no speech, then in the Noise Reduction window, adjust the Noise Reduction setting until you start to hear that metallic effect, then pull it back so the metallic effect is not noticeable.
