Spectrogram APIs

I am trying to programmatically edit a spectrogram to remove certain occurrences of words or noise. Something similar to a spectral gating. Manually I can edit the section of the spectrogram using marquee selection tool and delete the highlighted section. Is there an API to achieve this?

No, not unless you write one - but there is a sound remover tool. Have you tried that?
