Brand new 16" MBP i9, 16GB RAMBig Sur 11.0.1Up to date Audition.Every time I:  Click on the ruler to place play head  Press play  Click on clip fade handle  Attempt to resize clip  Use undo

Are you aware your machine has a dual-graphics system (Integrated and/or Discrete)? Make sure you prevent the machine from using the Integrated Graphics option. I've found the best way to do this is by using any one of the available utilities out there, such as gSwitch, etc. It runs in Menu Bar, and you can force Discrete graphics usage, Integrated, or Dynamic Switching. Make sure you read into these apps and make yourself aware of any risks/Disclaimers. I run gfxCardStatus. Works fine, at least so far ...
