Spreading Clips out evenly

Is there a way to spread out lots of clips in a multitrack evenly across the timeline given a set distance between them

Well, it was two years ago - and there's nothing to figure out anyway; correct answer is above.

No, I'm afraid that the only distance available is a gap of zero. The options there are are in Edit>Preferences>Multitrack Clips.
