Strange, persistent static/clicking just when recording in Audio

Hi all,FYI I'm extremely new to the world of audio recording and brand new to Audition. I worked with Focusrite support last night and, after recording in Garageband and Reaper, we determined that the issue is unique to Audition.Anything I record is crunchy/static-y. I've hardly touched any settings (because I don't know which way is up yet lol)Sounds a lot like what this guy experienced.  The correct interface is selected for both input and output and I can hear myself just fine through my headphones. WhaTTS HappPeeeNInnnG?! 🫠Thank you for any and all advice!

Go to Edit>Preferences>Audio Hardware and increase the number in the latency box. It's not an 'issue' as such, just Focusrite's inability to understand how their hardware has to be configured in Audition to work correctly. You may need to play about with the setting to optimise it - that's quite normal.

If this is on a PC, the other thing you might want to try is altering the device class (same page) to ASIO, assuming that you've fully installed the Focusrite drivers. This will generally give you lower latency (let's call it processing delay) and generally works better, since Audition's processing engine is ASIO-based.
