Supported plug-ins

Six years ago I installed Toontrack EZMix 2 on my Windows XP SP3 setup and that worked fine with Audition for years, then when I converted to W10 64-bit with a brand new work station I downloaded the Toontrack EZMix 2 for W10 64-bit but that made both EZMix 2 and Audition crash all the time. I was able to detect EZMix inside Audition and as you can see by the attached grab its available in the Effects menu, so why does both EZMix and Audition crash when I open EZMix? Is this this Audions fault or Toontrack?

If Audition doesn't support Toontrack EZMix 2 any longer then what should I use as a replacement? I'm not a musician, I only do voice over work and I need compression filters and features to enhance my vocal recordings. What I liked about EZMix2 is that it had tools to compress my vocal and create a tight dry result with lots of adjustment tools. It's just what I require for my VO work.

Crash when I use it and I'm forced to shut down both EZMix and Audition.

The dmp files the crash message is referring to.

This is how it looks in the Audition Audio Plug-In Manager

If Audition is crashing, then you need to do what it says here: Audition Crashed. Now what?

But that crash message you show above is from EZmix 2, not Audition. So what it amounts to is that we can't tell which of the two is causing the problem. Audition is, and always has been, rather fussy about VSTs - lazy coding in them is very likely to cause them to fail in it. But since you say that this version has never worked - well, who knows? I suggest that you submit a report to both parties, and see what the outcome is.

When I turn a knob or change settings in EZmix2 I also get this crash response coming from Audition. So it is both coming from EZmix2 and Adobe Audition. When I get that other error message I'm forced to close both Audition and EZmix2 and then re-open Audition. I have contacted Toontrack as well about this. But I'm curious to know if Adobe have a list of officially supported third party VST's? It's odd that EZMIX2 worked like a charm in something as old as Windows XPSP3 but not in W10?

When I re-installed EZmix2 I used the 64-bit version and it said "for Windows 7 and later".

There isn't a list of officially supported VSTs, simply because there aren't any! What Audition says is that any correctly-written 64-bit audio-only VST should run. So no VSTi's - they are unsupported.

The 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Audition are completely different - and there will be differences in the VSTs too. So I don't think it's really that odd that anomalies occur from time to time.
