Switching between Waveform and Multitrack edit is SLOW

I've got a decently spec'd tower computer with an i7 processor, 4 core, 16gb ram + SSD drive. On a really basic (no effects, vsts, etc) 15 lane multitrack session I'm getting really slow performance when I switch between Waveform and Multitrack view. The program hangs for a good 20-30 seconds between clicking on Multitrack and the Multitrack view actually showing.

Why is this so slow? How can I speed it up?

Same!  Infuriating!  Anyone have any luck troubleshooting this issue?

A lot has changed since April so it shouldn't be the same if you are using the latest 2018 version of Audition CC. Which version are you using and on what spec computer? We need more details and post it as a new bug if you are running the newest October version.

I have this problem constantly and painfully with different projects, on the brand new Audition update as well. I am on a MacBook with an NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB and am not aware that I can change the drivers.

This is not normal behaviour by ant means. Generally it should be virtually instant. What graphics card are you using and screen resolution are you using? The rest of your system is plenty good enough to cope with anything that Audition throws at it.

Hi thanks for the response. I have an ATI Radeon 5800 with 1gb vram. I’m literally running no other programs, so it shouldn’t be an issue there either. Are there any display related settings I should check in Audition?

No display related settings within Audition. It just goes with whatever the PC has set. More recent versions of Audition can now cope with some of the super hi resolution monitors that are available. Previously on such a monitor all the icons and fonts were much too small. So I can't think of anything that would cause your problem from within Audition. You might need to run some Process Monitoring software on your PC to see what it is doing during the long pause whilst changing Audition's screen view.
