Syncing online recorded podcast and automating silence cleaning

Hello,

I want to sync a podcast that was recorded online. I have two files, both recorded in Audition on two separate computers. I saw the video below where the silence is being automatically edited out, which sounds like a huge time saver! But, he is using a recording that was made int the same room, so there's no need to sync. What's the easiest way to sync the two files, so I could use that magic trick and clean the silence bits?
