Question

System has to be restored every couple days when running Audition

I use a mid 2011 iMac running Sierra.  For the last 2 weeks I have had a recurring issue where my system "lags" out to the point that getting a mouse click to register takes up to 90 seconds.  During this time, no programs can be closed out and the system can't be shut down or restarted.  Then, I eventually do a "hard re-boot" and the machine stays on the loading screen for hours.  So I end up restoring from Time Machine.  It works PERFECTLY for a couple days, then I have to do it again.

The ONLY common programs that have been running during these issues are AUDITION-CHROME-and-AVG.   I have updated ALL related programs.  Uninstalled and re-installed and have had no success in fixing this issue.

Is anyone else having this same issue?  What am I doing wrong?

    Hi davido62559002,

I'm so sorry for the poor experience. I have seen in a few cases with other users, anti-virus blocking the program. Is it possible to disable AVG and check if the issue persists?

Are you logged in as an Administrator into the machine?

    Thanks,

    Vidya

One thing that's known to cause freezing on Macs is a corrupted user profile on Chrome... you might like to try re-creating yours and see if that has anything to do with it.
