taking audio out of video to edit

When I take the audio out of a video to edit, it ends up shorter than the video. It actually cuts the last part off. Any help please?

    On further looking into, it gets cut when I am importing the video itself. In my files the video is 53:51 minutes and when it is imported is cuts off the end and is only 43:05 minutes long. It always cuts off the end. Why?????

    We'll need a lot more information on things like where you're importing the video from, what format the video is in, what version Windows or Mac operating system you have, what version of Audition you're using and so on.
