Question

the sample rate of the inserted file does not match the sample rate of the session

I'm using Audition 2023

In multitrack, when I try to insert a file, Audition says that the 'the sample rate of the inserted file does not match the sample rate of the session'.

As far as I can tell, the sample rate is the same as the multitrack session.

So why am I being forced to save a copy of a file to the same sample rate as the original???

When the file is listed in the Files panel in Waveform view, what does Audition state its sample rate to be?  (You may need to scroll across in that window to see the SR.)  Is it exactly the same as the SR for your session?

I've never encountered a situation where AA needs to "adjust" the SR of an imported file if that file uses the same SR as the session.

BTW, I hope you are not confusing "Sample Rate" with "Bit Depth".  (My apologies if that is not the case for you!)

I later realised that the recording was done after upgrading to AA 2023 where the default sample rate is 48000, whereas I do all my work in 44100...

Mystery solved
