The "Save As" option new glitch

Hello everyone! I have been working a sound design project for a while now and at the end of the day, I have always made a new folder labeled the date and then performed the Save As function also labeling the session with the corresponding date. So, for example, Session_01_01_01 was the first session and I saved it in a folder titled 01/01/01. The next day, Save As Session 01_02_01 in folder 01/02/01 and so on. Each folder has the session file (.sesx) and the corresponding Backup folder, Bounced Files folder, Conformed Files folder, and the Imported Files folder... until today.

Today I went to Save As just like all other days and I get the imported files but nothing else... No .sesx file, no backups, no folders... nothing.  As far as I know, nothing has changed since yesterday's session and I cannot for the life of me, figure out what is going on. Has anyone else experienced this "glitch"?

I have tried File>Export Session making sure I have the Save Copies of Associated Files box checked and even that is not working as well. I have tried saving to external hard drives, the internal hard drive, and even a USB stick and still, I cannot get a new save file.

I am stumped and fear I'm going to lose this work if I cannot get the incremental Save As method I use to work again. Any and all insight would be most appreciated. Thank you for your time!

Using Save As in a Multitrack session will only save the current .sesx file with it's new name in it's newly selected destination. It has never AFAIAA automatically saved all the other files as well. Only Export can do that. If the Save As box closed successfully with no error messages then Audition must have saved the .sesx file somewhere on your system. Can we also confirm which version of Audition you are using? And have you updated Audition recently?

So I can't quite understand how and why your previous workflow managed to save everything automatically when you did a session Save As. It might have been the Auto Save feature backing up your session files if you had correctly pointed it to use the session folder.

Hello, ryclark and thank you for your input! I am currently running Audition 12.1.1.42 which I believe is the current inception. I have my CC service set to auto update, as it were. So yeah, I'm stumped as well. But you get the gist of the situation. I'm racking my brain trying to figure what I have done differently and the only thing I can come up with was that I bounced a stereo mix to use in Premiere so the director could hear and see where we were in the mix so far. But it seems to me that even in doing so, if I were to open the same session, add more sounds and mix it and tweak it and then use the SAVE AS function, I could point this session to a new folder, retitle it and save it... as I have always done.

Anyway, as it is, for now, I'm copying the last saved folder, renaming it with an underscored number extension and placing that on an external drive so I still have some semblance of an incremental save workflow. I'll run a scan of the Mac and see if Audition put them someplace other than the pointed folder. It's worth a shot and thanks for mentioning that!

I'm going to start up Audition here in a minute. Work a little on the session and then try again. We'll see how it goes. Until then, my new system is working... just not the way I want it to.

Many thanks for taking the time to read my quandary! Much appreciated!
