Question

Timecode I/O

I wonder if anyone can tell what options there are (if any) for getting timecode in and out of Audition CC?

It seems that Audition 2.0 and 3.0 used to have SMPTE capabilty but that's long gone.

Does auditon CC read any data from control surfaces regarding timecode position?

And what about Audition's internal timecode data.. is it stored anywhere that might be accessible by an external program?

Seems a strange omission in such an advanced piece of software

As far as I'm aware, the current situation is still the same as it was about three years ago - read this thread. As Durin points out at the end of it, one of the significant issues relates to the way Audition integrates with Premiere, and that's still a work in progress, I believe.

I don't know what, if any, data can be read from an external hardware source, but Audition will certainly display VITC if you play a video in it, and certainly the track time is sent out for any recording; my old Red Rover controller displays it. So yes, internal time is definitely sent out.

Thanks Steve, good to know about the VITC... sounds like timecode sync has been an ongoing feature request for quite some time then!
