Tips on de-noising this noise

Hey, all. I do a lot of noise reduction. But I've got a problematic recording to clean. Any tips on ways to go about mitigating the bad noise on this recording? Here's an excerpt: (Warning, contains explicit language.)

    The new DeNoise effect in the latest CC2019 version of Audition makes a reasonable job of removing a lot, but not all I'm afraid, of the noise in this recording. Unfortunately due to the continually changing nature of the noise, probably due to some faulty electronics, it is rather difficult to remove completely. Also some reduction of the low frequencies below about 180Hz can help as there isn't much below that frequency in the woman's voice.

    Yeah, you're outlining the basic approaches I usually take in such cases. And beyond that, I can mute out the gaps in between words and replace them with bits of room tone, as labor-intensive as that is. I was hoping to learn some "weird new trick" I hadn't considered before, but alas no. Yeah, is't the inconsistency of the noises that's killer. Anyway, thanks for your input ryclark​!

    In a difficult situation like this I would probably add some Expansion to the audio after Noise reduction to reduce any left over noise in the gaps in the speech. This will then sound unnatural. So I would generate a file of Room Tone the same length as the dialogue file using the Noise Generator in Audition to make low level Pink noise. I would then compare this with a bit of real room tone from the file and use Parametric EQ to make it sound as near as possible to the original. Then I would mix it at a suitable low level throughout the dialogue audio file to provide just enough noise to hold the whole audio together.
