Trailing Sound

I have a random thing that happens when I record VO. Sometimes there is a trailing sound after I stop talking. It seems to pop up at various times and I can find no connection to link the times together. I may go a whole session without it then have to pop up several times in another session. I am attaching a sound clip. can anyone tell me what is causing this and what I can do to avoid it?

If you are referring to the somewhat "hollow" or "boomy" sound that I'm hearing (I don't hear anything other than that), it sounds as though you are either recording in a very small enclosure needing more sound absorption on the walls/ceiling, and/or your mic is located very close to a hard flat surface (like a copy stand) that is angled in such a way that it is reflecting your voice into the mic milliseconds after your voice has already entered the mic directly.

As you suggest it doesn't happen all the time, I'll guess that it is the hard flat surface close to the mic, but that you either reposition the mic or the copy stand, which changes the angle of reflection, increasing or decreasing that boomy sound.
