Question

Tweaking mono

Hi all,  Can anyone recommend any tweaks which are available on Audtion to make vinyl files sound more livelier?

I have recorded several mono 45s which are only available in stereo on CD. All clicks and surface noise etc. has been cleaned up but they sound a tiny bit flat. Are there any tweaks on Audition to make them sound a bit brighter or similar to CD sounding quality?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated in advance. Thanks, Paul.

Go to Effects>Special>Mastering and try a few of the presets initially. Pay special attention to the Exciter. You could start with the Stereo to Mono preset (it doesn't matter that it already is mono) and try  increasing the exciter amount gradually, bearing in mind that it really is easy to overdo it! But for subtle things, the Mastering section is probably the effect to go for, and don't be afraid to experiment.
