Question

Unwanted attenuator metallic effect

We recorded video interviews with the Nikon 850 and a wireless mic direct input before noticing the attenuator feature in the DSLR was turned on. One of the interviews quality turned out ok, but one did not. It recorded with a highly undesirable metallic sonic-type sound. Is there any way in Audition to help curb that result, even a little bit?

If it's actually distorted the sound, then there is no cure for it, simply because you have no reference to what it should sound like - so no repair possible, I'm afraid. This is generally the case with anything 'metallic-sounding', but if you want that confirmed, then you'll have to post a link to a sample from it.

Thanks, SteveG. Yeah, that’s what I figured, unfortunately. I’ve been messing around with it, applied some reverb and EQ adjustments which helped a small bit. Once music is underlayed it might be ok. Lesson learned.

    Thanks again!
