Using Win 10 beyond cutoff date, is it possible to get Audition updates as a file I could load?

Before Windows 10 goes unsupported, I'm goinig to buy a year of continuing the AV protection, and a year from now I'll have to get a Win 11 one. If it were possible, I would like to use Win 10 on this computer, but unplug it from the internet, and just use the sound recording and other facilities, and use the new one to go online. The problem I foresee is that my Audition program won't receive any updates. Is it possible to receive updates from Audition that I could load into the program myself? Or is that out of the question?

I know I'll have to start using 11 for everything, but I'd like to put it off as long as possible. I have been an Audition user since it was Cool Edit 96 by Syntrillium, and would like to continue.

If you unplug your computer from the internet, then the next time an authorisation check occurs (these are fairly regular) then you won't be able to use it anyway; it relies on a communication via the Creative Cloud app to check this. As far as I'm aware, you can only install and upgrade via the app - there's no direct way to update, as that would drive a coach and horses through any security system!

Personally I'm quite looking forward to M$ stopping 'supporting' W10 - this will inevitably make it more stable. I use a 3rd party protection app to stop nasties happening, and that will continue to work fine. Using this approach will give several years more usable life out of W10, I think. Yes I have W11 on the DAW, and it has been quite annoying to have to waste a lot of time in just stopping it from displaying all sorts of rubbish I don't want to see.

There is some good news for you, though. Your Audition licence allows you to run two installations - so there's actually nothing to stop you keeping it on both machines, so none of this should actually be a problem.

Thanks, Steve. I keep finding solutions on how to keep using W10 on the net by people who want to sell something. I'd be pleased if you could tell us what 3rd party solutions you use, either here or maybe in a PM.

The 3rd party solution I use is Sophos.
