Question

Visually amplify y axis in adobe audition

Hi everyone,

My y axis is almost non-visible. I would like to amplify it, so I went to Effect > Amplify, but it amplified the sound not the visual waves of my file. How can I amplify the sound waves so I can see them ?

Thank you in advance,

Tennessee

If you are talking about Multitrack view, then go to Edit>Preferences>Multitrack Clips and make sure there's a check in the fifth entry - Scale waveform when adjusting clip gain.

Yes it is in Multitrack! Thank you! Though, I don't see "Scale waveform when adjusting cli gain" maybe because I have Audition CS6 version?

No, that option isn't in CS6 - things have moved on a bit since then. Your other solution would be to open the file in Waveform view and normalize the signal to about -3dB. This will bring up the level (which sounds as though it's too low in the first place, TBH) and increase the height of the display in Multitrack.

Do you just mean the track height? The view controls are in the bottom right.

If you hover you'll be shown the key commands.
