i currently do not record with any effects on, but once everything is laid out, i usually send all my vocals to a bus thatll have my main effects for cleanup ect...im wondering...while using a cpu heavy plugin...specifically AUTOTUNE PRO, alot of my clients like to use it in real time, which isnt much of an issue. but im curious how some of u would handle this....would you put autotune on a bus and send the  tracks that need it in real time to that bus ? or put it on each track manually?

Like you I don't record with FX on and as far as AUTOTUNE PRO I prefer to use Audition's Manual Pitch Correction function. Yes it takes more time but the results far outstrip anything that Autotune could hope to produce

Actually it's not possible to record with effects printed to the track* - the only thing you can do is record with effects in the monitor chain. This has been known to fool people - so if you make the mistake of removing any effects you'd applied during playback, it will reveal to your clients just how bad they really are... 😉

*(Unless you go to the lengths of feeding the monitor output back to another input and record that.)
