Volume issues after importing and trimming songs from iTunes

I am trying to trim portions of songs that I've previously purchased on iTunes. During various points of the trimmed songs, the volume level will slightly dip for a few seconds and then go back to normal. This issue only occurs when I trim parts of songs. The volume level is consistent when no portion of the song is trimmed. Is there a way around this/ Is there a way to fix this? Where is this issue coming from?

We will need to know a lot more information about how you are trimming the songs and your workflow. Are you working with the songs in the Multitrack or Waveform view? presumably since you mention iTunes you are working on a Mac computer.
