.wav recorded with schools audition unable to load on my audition

Hi, I've recorded a .wav clip at my school using their adobe audition, emailed it to myself to edit at home using my adobe audition (via my adobe premium pro subscription) however the .wav file doesn't seem to load into my library, when I drag and drop, a new tab opens to just play the file. Any pointes?
