I am looking at this in Audition:

It's about 5 seconds on my harmonica.

My goal is to employ Audition to end up with something more like the sytle of this:

Which was basically something I googled up in terms of the exact look and feel of the exact waveform I seeek visusally. Only I want the waveform to actually be the 5 secs of my harmonica.

I am a visual designer and today I played around with Audition for the first time thinking it might be useful in producing what I am after.

Waveforms represent sounds - they aren't arbitrary things at all, and their contents actually mean something. That mess you want it to look like would sound absolutely awful! It would have a really nasty buzz all the way through it.

I realize the mess I posted is probably awful although it was originally a piece of a random google picture that I cloned and lengthened visually. But it is in the style of what I want visually. What sound or technique is needed for me to have Audition show a waveform much closed in look and feel to the mess I showed?
