Question

Waveform zoom changes when recording

I am used to working with Audacity and recently made the shift to Adobe Audition, but I am struggling a bit. I do mostly narration and when I make a mistake, I used to just cut out a portion and then resume. But, when I record in Audition, I don't know how to explan it, but when I press stop recording, the way the waves are displayed as changed. I have it setup when I start to display a few seconds. I use the wheel on the middle of the mouse to scroll in and out, which I would describe as zooming in and out of the wave pattern. I think its nice to see a few seconds, because when I make a mistake I can just select the part I messed up and press resume and go again.

Is there a way to disable this automatic zoom-change? I want it to always display the last I don't know 10 seconds of recordings and that's it.

Can anyone help?

There are several options you can change for zooming. You can find them in Edit>Preferences>Playback and Recording. If you can't find what you want there, then you probably can't do it. That said, those options are pretty flexible...
