Waves Soundgrid Server in Audition?

Does anyone know if SoundGrid Server works with Audition (latest version)?

I'm looking at the lowest cost unit.

SoundGrid Impact Server | Hardware | Waves

If I understand correctly - I would configure the Focusrite Scarlet interface as the ASIO compatible i/o device and insert StudioRack as a VST3 plugin to leverage the external DSP processor.

However, StudioRack lists the following qualifier for Audition;

  • Audition CC2015, CC2017 (VST3, StudioRack Local only)

I don't know if that means that I won't be able to configure StudioRack to use the external DSP server - and that's the reason for the post.

I've hit the limit of processing power mixing a project and need external processing support.

Anyone?

Cheers,

-Kent

    By the way - I contacted Waves support and they have indicated to me that SoundGrid Server support is not available for Adobe Audition. The SoundGrid application does not support external processing for Audition.

    Ugh.

    I what way have you hit the limit in mixing a project? Have you tried Freezing tracks that are effects heavy so that they are pre-rendered?

    The limit is in CPU power (i7 4ghz) when running plug-ins mixing down a large project.

    Pre-rendering is useful but only to a point. Whenever a change is made to an effect the rendering has to start over and that takes a while. During mixing I'm making several tweaks to adjust sounds and this causes playback to be useless until re-rendering is complete.

    Also, pre-rendering does not work on buses. Those plug-ins must run in real-time.
