Weird Static Being Added

Hi, everyone - yesterday my audio set-up was recording just fine. Today, I went to record an audition and when I played it back, there is a weird static and crackling happening. I know it's not a hardware issue because I tried a different cable, different mic and by-passed the audio interface with a USB cable. Also, when I record in any other program, the audio is just fine. In fact, I recorded in Quicktime Player and it was fine but it had static when I played the same file into Audition. I even edited that file in Audition - the crackle/static was heard when playing it in Audition but not when I played it in QuickTime.

I know Adobe issued an update yesterday. Is anyone experiencing this? I am on a Mac Pro, Sequoia 15.3.2.

I just want to say that this happened to me recently as well after importing audio, and so I haven't been using Audition. I opted for Logic Pro, which is an incredible application, but expensive and has a high learning curve. It might even be overkill for podcasting... but everything sounds INCREDIBLE. Audition is something I would like to give another chance, though, since it has very, very interesting and cool podcast-specific features that I haven't seen anywhere else.

That doesn't sound like 'static' as such - it sounds far more like a buffer issue...

Ok, any ideas on how to fix? I reverted to a previous version of Adobe and things are fine now...

Several strange things have been reported concerning the latest release - the fact that it works fine with the previous one makes me a little bit suspicious to say the least... perhaps stick with that until things have shaken out?
