When I convert the sample rate of a file to match the session, the audio disappears????

Question

Hey everyone, I got this project due soon and I'm trying to add an mp3 drum track. Every time I try to add it to multitrack, it says that the file doesn't match the sample rate of the session. If I click yes to convert it to the right sample rate, the new file doesn't show any waves or audio or anything. PLEASE HELP I am just so confused. I'm pretty new to audition.

I think you'll find that you need your MP3 file to be opened as a wav file (which will happen anyway when you open it in Audition - wav is the only format it can work in). At this point it's the wav file that needs to be converted to the session rate. If that doesn't work, then report back.
