Question

Why does Audition want to save the file I just saved?

When I am working on a single track file (wav etc), I often manually save to add a version number to the filename. Whenever I do this, then try to close the file, Audition asks me to save the file and it is flagged as having unsaved changes (*). Is it really unaware that it just saved the file? It's not a big deal unless I'm saving a big FLAC (which Audition does not like at all) or something like that. Then it can even crash the entire DAW for some reason (even though it just successfully saved the same file).

Perhaps when you rename it Audition does a 'save a copy' this would mean the original file is unsaved.

Can't get it to do that at all here - it behaves exactly as it should. What version are you using, and on a Mac or a PC?
