why does my cursor jerk instead of running smoothly

i think I have found out. I had another panel running to one side and had blanked it out rather than closing it. I closed it. My cursor now runs smoothly.

No I thought I had the answer but, it now continues to jerk when playing although the sound is fine. Anyone out there have any idea why my cursor jerks along?
