With Windows 10 I no longer can use Audition 3 or 3.01. I love this version. Is there anything that can be done? Thanks.

I have a paid dvd of AA3, but recently [a year or so ago, I suppose!] could not activate it in the original way, and had to work around that to run it on my pc.

AIUI, Adobe has now [last month or so] removed the downloadable version of AA 3 which means that there is now no way to run it.

Is that right, and if so, how can I access and run my old .ses sessions?

(I'm not aware of any way of converting the .ses files to .sesx files, except by using 3rd party software, which costs c $40. Does anyone here have experience of using such 3rd party software?)

https://www.aatranslator.com.au/ses2sesx.html doesn't cost $40 and is the best converter out there.

Thanks for the confirmations that Ses2Sesx is the way to go.

My apologies for wickedly rounding 39 up to 40...

Is anyone else not incensed that Adobe should - without warning - leave users of legitimately-owned and registered software without a way to access their older sessions? I've bought later versions, but that doesn't help.

If they can't or won't provide converters themselves, I feel they should make Ses2Sesx available to us registered users at no cost.

    Yes, I'm annoyed!

You hide your annoyance well LOL

As I recall you can save your old sessions as XML and from memory they can be opened with later versions of Audition.  The only caveat is that the FX don't convert but they do with Ses2Sesx.  That may not be an issue especially if you mainly use 3rd party FX as they (almost all) won't convert anyway.

Works fine for me too on a Win 10 PC. What happens when you try to use it on your computer? We can't really help unless you can tell us a bit more about your set up and what audio interface you are using.

I think when I tried to install (and failed) I was using a Foscusrite 6i6 interface, That was awhile back. I haven't tried in a good while. I currently have a Focusrite Clarett 2 Pre USB interface. My JBL lsr 2300s are curently being repaired so will try again when I get those back. I thought Audition 3 was just just old and wouldn't work anymore and that there might be a solution available. Will report back when I get my monitors back. Thanks for the replies.
