Workflow: take 30min file, split into 10min pieces

I am looking to automate (or make easy) a daily process of taking a ~30 minute audio file, placing in the multitrack timeline, cutting it every 10 minutes, and exporting all the sections into separate files of 10 minutes each.

Can markers help? For instance, if I set up a blank timeline and set markers every 10 minutes, can I tell Audition to cut whatever shows up at that marker when I place my audio file onthe timeline?

Is there another solution?

Multitrack markers are only timeline indicators - they have no practical functionality at all. If it's a straightforward file, I'd do that in Waveform view, where the markers have some actual functioal capability. Since you only need to create three marker ranges for a 30 minute file split into 10 minute sections, that's hardly worth automating. All you need to do is highlight the range of the first 10 minutes and hit F8. This will automatically create a marker range which you will see in the markers window. Do the same thing for the other two sections, highlight all three of the ranges in the window, and then you will find, in the tools above the markers, an option to export the ranges to individual files.
