Zoom to a predefined duration

To little or no avail, I asked before (and submitted a feature request) for zooming to a specific resolution.

It occurred that perhaps there is a way via a "macro", Automator, Keyboard Maestro, QuickSilver, etc. (on a Mac).

Has anyone had any success creating a "shortcut" or another device to select the Selection-Duration box in the Selection/View panel and entering a specified number (e.g.: 0:06)?
