Announcing a new feature now in Adobe Camera Raw (17.2) – Removal of Distracting People

Under the Remove dialog, under Distraction Removal, we have added an item called “People”.

 

This feature supports faster and easier detection and removal of distracting people in an image. It is offered as a Tech Preview in the Adobe Camera Raw Plugin-only and is available now. Please try it out and let us know what works well, what doesn’t work well, and anything that might improve the experience.

    The people removal tool is still in its nascent stage . When selected, it could very well identify multiple people in an image , but when removal was done, it made a mess . The surrounding structures either got merged or there were artifacts left behind. It needs a re-work by Adobe Team. Its a good and necessary concept, but still in a very very early stage with unpleasant results. hence removing people using other tools in Ps is tedious but with much better outcome

    bonjour , la suppression des personnes marchent très bien. 

    Merci d' ajouter un bouton pour ajouter des personnes en plus à supprimer ( celles qui ne sont pas détectées spntanément  par le logiciel)

    It's proving helpful for me so far, editing event photography. But I just used it on an image that merely beheaded a person, leaving the rest of the body. I wish there were options to refine or define who is distracting - or where their whole body is - if the initial removal doesn't quite work. I'm going back and using the removal AI tool outside the distracting people feature in the meantime.

    Today i was removing a person in the background and AI filled it with a new face looking like an alien

    How do I reduce the masked area surrounding a person if I think the area covered by the mask is too large?

    This feature is not working consitently for me.  It only sometimes works, and not on every photo.  It seems to be not working when a photo already has some edits applied.  If this is the case, then I press reset in the dev module, and then it finally works on a specific photo.

     

    is there a way to solve this?

    If it should be removing people from the photo i would assume it shouldn't generate any stupid items? The tool should be called "replace people with AI bs".

    It removes the people quite well, and then adds a random person that didn't exist.
