For a complete overview of camera support in Photoshop and Lightroom, visit the following article:

Why doesn't my version of Photoshop or Lightroom support my camera?

  1. Make sure your version of Photoshop or Lightroom is updated for the latest camera support.
  2. If you own an older version of Photoshop or Lightroom, Adobe provides backward compatibility for the latest cameras through the FREE Adobe DNG Converter.

Note: ETAs for specific cameras are not available

Hoor graag.

Google translation: "I just got a new Sony RX 100 vii. Updated the latest Camera Raw (14.1). But neither Photoshop nor Lightroom recognize the file. Sony works with .arw. It seems as if this camera is not in the latest update of Camera Raw."

Support for the RX100 VII was added in LR 8.4.1. In LR, do the menu command Help > System Info, and copy/paste the first line here, so we can see precisely which version of LR you're running.

I work with LR 6. I think that is the problem. Do I understand well I have to convert the pics to DNG? Is it correct that the newest Camera Raw does not work in LR 6?

It “went” as it has for decades. And will continue to. Don't be surprised if Sony doesn't reply here. Adobe already has.

Are you guys talking about Lightroom mobile? My Creative Cloud dont show any updates for either Lightroom or LR Classic, even after manually searching for updates. I still can not import the awr files.

All Lightrooms were updated to add support for several new cameras, including the A7 IV.

Perhaps the update is being progressively deployed to the regions.

Two weeks of waiting and they did it!!!! Manually check for updates.

Please see for yourself which version of Camera Raw supports a camera and which version of Photoshop is compatible with that ACR version:

https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html

If you prefer processing RAW images with ACR instead of the camera maker’s proprietary software you might want to petition them to allow shooting DNG so that Adobe does not have to play catch-up with each new camera model’s RAW format.

The solution is easy but those that can solve the problem will not: STOP making proprietary raws!

No issues with camera JPEGs. Not proprietary.

Simple.

Very short vision to solving the issue...

My answer is work hand in hand with manufacturers, that's what Adobe should do.

And don't tell me it's not possible... once again that's irrelevant...

Be proactive, if a new model is announced, plan your update accordingly.

Adobe should be seemlessly updated with cameras, it's simply common sense.

Not even trying (especially when it's recurrent) means, they don't care... and so don't care of the inconvenience for their clients...

Work hand and hand until the manufacturer refuses.

Examine the history. Of DNG as one example. Adobe tried. A few manufacturers of cameras did, most did not.

Common sense isn't a flower that grows in everyone's garden.
