0 Items imported when importing closed captions (v. 11.5.5)

Hi,

I am receiving a pop-p reading 0 Items Imported when trying to import text and closed captions after translating.  I am certain that the file is not being edited in between export/import, and that nothing in the actual exported file is being changed except the table for updated text (I am manually copying/pasting myself).

I have tried opening and closing Captivate and the word file...

Are there any other tips?

Take a look at the process I follow. Maybe you'll see something you might have missed: https://youtu.be/MLtttHUHqTE

Thank you Paul! This was exactly what I needed. I didn't realize the column header "Updated Text Caption Data" shouldn't be transalated. So appreciate your video, and you sharing it here!

Did you export the file BEFORE making the updates? So you EXPORT the document, make the changes (you dont have to copy/paste since there is translator function). and then Imported the file? And no editing of Captivate during the updates?

Only thing I can think of is to remove your preferences?

    Hope this helps.

Another thing I would recommend you try as a quick check:

    • Export another MS Word translation document from the CPTX.
    • Compare the item id codes that appear in the second column of the newly exported document with the same items in your current translation document (the one that doesn't achieve anything when you imported it).
    • Do all of the codes match exactly?

Also, since you mention that you were copying and pasting text into the translation document, did you copy ONLY as plain text, or was the text copied from another app such as MS Word?
