A Captivate 8 file created on a PC won't open on a Mac

Hello,

My colleague recorded a software simulation with his trial version of Captivate 8 on his PC.

I then copied it onto my Mac and tried to open it with my trial version Captivate 8, but it just doesn't open.

When i double click the file, nothing happens...When I try to open it from Captivate > File > Open, I het a window that says Captivate can't open the file, make sure the file is not open already, the file is not damaged, etc...

Can you help?

    I will answer my own question here I figured it out. The file I couldn't open was created in Captivate 9 and Captivate 8 doesn't open the newer version...FYI.
