Ability to navigate through question screens

Hello,

I'm using Captivate 9.

I need the ability for users to move backwards through the questions back to the content screens. However once a question is answered they are only able to move backwards, if they come back to the question it is stuck and they are unable to move forward.

Any ideas on how I will be able to make this work?

Thanks,

This is the design of question slides (more details in : Question Question Slides in Captivate - Captivate blog))

    • If you have multiple attempts on Question level, you shouldn't leave the slide, or you'll lose more attempts; only exception is the Remediation feature (appeared with 6) that allows you to navigate to a content slide on Failure, and when returning the user will be able to edit the question. But with free navigation as you want: no way, when user comes back, he will be stuck, the answer is frozen.
    • Only way to retake the question than is to enable multiple Attempts on Quiz level. That means that you should have a Retake button on the Score slide, only way to return to the first question. All answers will then be cleared for all questions.
    • Alternative is to use the Submit All feature (see Quiz Preferences) which will allow free navigation and only when user decides to transmit ALL answers, will it be done. It can cause issues for large quizzes and low bandwidth
    • Another solution is to forget about the default type of questions but create custom questions. It is lot of work, and not really something you should start without having a good knowledge of variables and advanced/shared actions.
