Question

Accessiblity and multi-state object

Hi All,
I was hoping to use the multi-state object option for hiding and showing text on a page.

We've been informed that this isn't possible because it doesn't conform with our accessibility requirements.

It has to do with the fact that the "states" are not screen readable.

Has anyone had experience using this and found a work-around for it?

I've done something similar to this for a medical course that included different sounds,(wheezing, coughing, etc.).  I, too, used object states to house much of this information.  What I ended up doing is creating a button that would appear based on what state the object was in.  From there, users could click on the button to listen to the accompanying sound.

Perhaps you could consider a similar approach?  Additionally, you could add the text you are trying to hide/show into the Closed Caption feature, and use a toggle switch to turn CC's on (show) and off (hide).

Does this help with your issue?
