Question

Accordion widget not working in publish

My presentation consists of one slide with an accordion widget on it. It previously worked when I published it. I made a text amendment and how it doesn't. I've taken scaleable html off - any other suggestions?

The screen shows a grey 'loading' box and then reveals the correct page minus the widget.

thank you.

I am finding something odd with the accordion widget.  If the captivate .ini file has UseWidget7 = 1 the accordion does not work when adding the published project to the LMS.  I am using Captivate 9 and Moodle as my LMS, project published to HTML5.

I had set UseWidget7 = 1 to fix an issue related to smart shapes not displaying on top of widgets (https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2163874).

After doing this my accordion widget in a different section does not work within the LMS.  If I change the UseWidget7 to 0 and republish, the accordion widget again works.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this...but hopefully is helpful to some...and any solutions would be welcome!!

I have a similar problem but with some variations:

I am using the Accordion widget interaction in CP9, it works fine in previews (browser or otherwise).

When I publish to SWF/HTML5 is not visible in the output (loading message and then displays page with widget missing...blank space)

It DOES WORK for .exe output.

I am just not going to use it...pity, since it's a nice widget.

Did you try after uploading to a webserver or a LMS?

No, not after publishing to an LMS, I am assuming if it doesn't work for me here, it will not work in the LMS.

I will add that I have used this widget successfully with CP7 and previous to that as well and it worked fine.

Important Note: It works in IE 11 but not in Chrome

I don't see immediately an answer, but maybe someone else pops in, and he/she will certainly ask you which version of CP you are using, if the Interaction is updated etc...

Can you also check if it is visible in output? Normally the stack order is not important, because an interaction gets automatically on top. However, if you are on CP6, all interactions paused the slide at the first frame. If you should have set the Interaction to fade in, maybe this could be the problem.

Hi there - I'm in Captivate 7. I've removed other elements from the page in case that was causing the problem, but that hasn't fixed it. The page just hangs with a grey 'loading' box in the middle. Then the next page loads up. Can anyone help?

Did the text amendment involve adding any special characters, e.g. punctuation characters?  Sometimes these can foul things up.

Are you testing your content online via a web server or just from your hard drive?
