Add a pop-up box in a PDF that open and closes on click?

I've created this doc in illustrator that's supposed to have pop-up boxes when hovering over certain parts of the text. 

That part works great once set up in adobe acrobat with the set layer visibility option.

I've now been asked to add a link for people to click on in one of the boxes, however once you move the mouse away, the box is no longer visible. Is there any way that I can set it so you click on the field and the layer stays visible until you click out?
