Adding a Next button to appear after the Submit button has been clicked - CP9

My lead wants to add a Next or Continue button to question slides.  This button wouldn't appear until after the student had clicked the Submit button and it would take the student to the next slide.  He really hates the click y or anywhere function to continue.

I have built my own question slides that do, unfortunately he wants to use question pools and random questions and I haven't found a way to add question slides I created to a question pool.

I did put a smart shape that looked like a button to the slide and when you clicked on it the next slide came up.  I also tried putting a smart shape button used as a next button.  The draw back with that one was I had to double click to get it to move forward and it didn't disappear when going back for Review.

For some reason the Next button that is featured on the question slide never showed up when I previewed the project.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.  For some reason I can't find my questions on the forum when I go back to look for them.  So I apologize to anyone that has answered some of my questions but never got a response from me.

I explained the work flow in my most visited blog post, which needs urgently to be upgraded:

In short: you have to break the two-step design for submitting which consists in deleting the default feedback messages, creating text containers with custom messages. Use the actions to show the correct feedback and be sure to let the project continue. Put your Next shape button so that its timeline starts after the pausing point of the question slide and set its pausing point later than the default one of the question slide.

I have a similar, but not exactly the same question.

A co-worker created some CBT last year using Captivate 8 which prohibited learner from advancing to next slide until audio was complete on first run through (all linear, no branching). Subsequent access to viewed slides allowed learners to advance without having to listen to slide again.

I started with one of her files (created with 8, but now using 9) and that functionality doesn’t seem to work.

I have looked at every setting I could possible think of (copied previous settings exactly), but I must be missing something really obvious.

I readily admit I am NOT a Captivate expert and she assured me she didn't use advanced actions, so if anyone can provide some insight, it would be greatly appreciated!

This is indeed a totally different question, would have been better in another thread.

Can you post a screenshot of the timeline? Which type of audio is used: slide audio or another type?

I have done this with micronavigation, by using the Play Audio command in combination with a conditional action On Enter of the slide.

Here is a blog post with a similar use case:

TY, and I apologize for not starting a new thread!

In my search to find an easy solution, your blog came up multiple times and I read it hoping it was "the" answer. When I talked with the original designer, she assured me she didn't do anything like that.

I read the blog but you know I'm slow.  I'll read it again and hope it clicks.

Thanks,
