Adding audio narration to trimmed video demo slide

I have a video demo that I want to add audio narration to. I trimmed a few places in the video to remove some dead time, and now when I record audio the video stops at the point where I did the first trim.I am able to keep recording audio but the video has completely stopped.

How can I get past this?

Answered this one myself - I had to add audio to each segment of trimmed video.

I am having the same issue, 4 years later in Captivate 2019. How did you add audio to each segment of trimmed video? Is there another fix?
