Adding Interactive Buttons to Video

Hi,

I'm trying to add buttons to a multi-slide synchronous video (which will be spread out over a couple of slides). I've been able to insert the video and buttons to make it work. The problem is that as I'm editing a slide, I want to pause the video at the moment I want the interaction to occur (so I can add it at the right spot), however, when I hit pause, the video stops and reverts back to the opening scene on that particular slide. In other words, I can't see a static image of what is happening in the video at a certain part of the video.

I'm not sure if this is something I'm doing wrong? I'm relatively new to Captivate.

If any one has any suggestions or thoughts, they'd be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Meg

Ah...OK.  I see what you mean.  You were expecting that when you stopped the timeline at a given point in Edit mode it would show you the same frame of the video at that moment.

That might be the way other apps and video editors work but it's NOT the way Captivate works.   You'll need to do constant previews to see what is happening.

As for timing which slide is at which part of the video, use the Video > Edit Video Timing dialog to get a better idea of what is happening on the screen.

Sounds like you may have inserted the video as Event Video rather than Multi-Slide Synchronized Video.  Is that correct?

No, I'm using the multi-slide synchronized video over the duration of 5 or 6 slides. So it's breaking the video into chunks.

    Thanks!
