Administrator Rights for CP9

Hi all.  Our friendly IT staff, for security reasons, have removed administrator rights from us on our PCs.  Since Captivate requires admin rights to work properly, they have somehow enabled admin rights for Captivate only.  So the application is running properly, except the Help - Updates option is grayed out and unavailable.  So I can't run the Adobe Application Manager (or whatever it's called) and have no idea when any of the Adobe applications I have installed (I have the eLearning Suite) have any updates.  So my question is, how can I be made aware of any updates to Adobe software?  I check the Adobe Captivate Blog daily, and keep an eye on this Captivate User Forum.  Is there any other source of update notices?

This is not to even mention that if there were an update, I can no longer install it - I have to get the IT staff to do it.  It's a crazy over reaction in my opinion, but my opinion doesn't count enough.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I always try to talk about newly released patches everywhere...but important patches will be talked about on the Captivate blog I trust.

Now I'm confused. The last version of the eLearning suite was 6.1 (with Captivate 6). There is no eLearning suite that has CP9 on board.

Probably Adobe blog will tell when there is an update. But a hot fix like the one released shortly after CP9 was never announced there.

Oops, forgot to tell that it was also not available from Help, Updates.

Hi Lieve.  You are correct.  I have the old eLearning Suite 6.1, with Captivate 6, but we also have a subscription version of CP9.  And I have installed the hotfix.  It seems that when the IT staff allowed Captivate to run in admin mode, they also changed the entire Captivate installation folder rights to include write permissions.  So I was able to copy in the updated files.  I just can't run any installations.
