Adobe Captivate 12 not responding

Hi, any ideas or suggestions appreciated. Captivate 12 is consistantly "Not responding." Captivate sits on my laptop, not remotely. I have tried repeatedly to conduct demos and start a new project, and Captivate fails to respond initially or shortly after beginning the sim/project.
