Adobe Captivate 2019 - unknown error occurred. Cannot generate the recorded video clip.

I am getting the below :

Adobe Captivate 2019 - unknown error occurred. Cannot generate the recorded video clip. The disk may not have the required free space or the recording is not substantive enough to generate a video.

I have reinstalled the Software twice.  I have also ensured the software is installed as an administrator.

I do not get this error if I select runas Local Administrator.

The user in question is saving the recording to the local drive , which she has full access to .

Has anyone seen this and if so , what is the fix please?

Correct answer Lilybiri

The release version is

Adobe Captivate 2019

11.5.5.553

Sorry , not sure what you mean by restart Captivate with the feature run as administrator , as mentioned before manually right clicking on the Captivate 2019 icon and selecting run as administrator still generates the error , the only thing that doesnt generate the error is to run the icon/program as run as different user and then enter the local administrator account and password.

The developer needs administrator rights only for Captivate, maybe that is not the case? No full administrator rights are necessary, only for the application Captivate.

You are on a very stable version of CP2019, I am using the same version.

Hi

Thank you for your quick reply.

Please see attached version information.

Have done a check update and it has confirmed this is the current version available.

Also , the only time this error does not get generated is when I run it as a different usser and then enter the local administrator details .\administrator folowed by the password.  If I right click on the program and run it as administrator it still displays the same error.

For obvious reasons we cannot give the user the local admin credentials.

If this computer is connected to a secondary display, try disconnecting from it so that there is only one monitor involved and then attempt the Video Demo capture again.  Does that work?

Please show the full version number, as you can find under Help, About Captivate. Under the common name 'CP2019' there were three main releases (not even comptible between them) and multiple patch releases.

I am bit stupefied by the screenshot: it is the welcome screen with an error message on top. What was exactly the action to make that message appear? Were you trying to start a new Software simulation or a Video Demo?

Indeed, 'Run as administrator' is highly recommended especially for the type of projects I just mentioned.

As you mentioned, it is Video Demo and create , which creates the error.

Please, can you indicate the full version number? Maybe you only need to update with a patch release.

I understand now when the error message appears, when you want to start a new Video Demo project.  If this is Windows, please restart Captivate with the feature 'Run as Administrator'.

If the screen is not showing 1px/px you'll need to edit either the AdobeCaptivate.ini file or change the properties of your screen so that you see 1px/px. How depends on your OS.
