Adobe captivate 8 has stopped working

Hi

From Monday my captivate is not working properly, suddenly it stopped working. Till Friday evening it was working fine but Monday morning when I try to open captivate 8 it displaying the following message.i tried uninstalling and re-installing the software but still this error is coming.

"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program".

System Specs:

Windows 7

RAM 8 GB

Core i5 3rd gen processor

You are on win, just run the batch file 'CleanPreferenceWin.bat'

When you did uninstall, reinstall did you also:

  1. Clear the cache
  2. Clear the preferences folder (see Utils under installation folder)
  3. Clear the Layouts folder in eLearning assets under Public documents?

Do you have a lot of fonts installed besides the default fonts with Win7? A corrupt font can also cause this type of problem.

Hi Lilybiri,

Thanks for your immediate reply, today morning i uninstalled and re-installed the software. i have one more doubt "clear the preference folder" means i need to delete the following 3 files from the Utils folder? because i don't have any separate folder for preference in captivate 8 folder. Moreover, i didn't install any extra fonts other than the default.
